Review of Insight by Lindsay Harrison, Sylvia Browne (2006)

This book about Sylvia's life and other peoples’ lives is in one word Hope. If what we hear and learn on these tapes are even twenty percent correct and true then this book is a tool in the healing of one's spirit and is one book that every person who has asked questions about life, death, love, career and other questions should buy this audio book and really listen to it. I will admit I am not in agreement with everything I heard nor do I believe parts of it, but if it is even 20 percent true it is one of the most inspirational books of all time and one that must be heard!

Sure, my statements may seem fantastic or over exaggerated, but she gives us hope and explains that our loved ones who passed are these waiting for us and although the Bible, and many religions tell us this and we have faith we still often have doubt, but this book also tells us about the lives and deaths of our beloved animals and it is coming from a woman who believes in God and has studied all twenty six versions of the Bible and almost every other religion so her basis comes not only from love of life and humanity but from her love and belief in God. As one who loves life and misses my deceased family members, animals and friends as well as famous entertainers, heroes, and others I must again say this book is a relief and filled with hope.

I urge you to buy it today and listen to it again and again as it will help you regain hope you may have lost or give you knowledge that you will want for your life on earth and in Heaven.

Buy Animals on the Other Side by Chris Dufresne, Kat Shehata, Sylvia Browne (2005)

One who loves animals and who has had animals in their lives would find this a comforting book. if one believes it's assertions and beliefs it strikes a cord and does bring tears to one who has had their cat, dog, hamster, fish, bird or any other animal in their family die.
The book says our animals can hear us and they know we love them. I sure hope this to be the case. The book is uplifting, colorful and a fast read, but so important to read. I would recommend it to every person who has ever had an animal in their family and it is my belief that it will help you deal with the death and life of your beloved family member.

Animals on the Other Side by Chris Dufresne, Kat Shehata, Sylvia Browne have done a great service to all who love their animals. I like the book very much and feel it helps we who have asked many questions about our family and who miss those who are gone.

The reality is that this store buys most of their products from China which of course pays their employees in China little or no money uses lead in their products which as we have learned could harm you and your children. Oh yeah this company also marks up their prices and gets a profit mark up of over 200% Now does that should like a bargain to you? By the way they fired a manager for being humane too!

Gas Prices can be lower if we unite.

I will go two steps further. I'll send it to ten people and post it on my blogs, but I saw this same e-mail a year ago and we are witness to the fact that prices have now hit another all time high. Currently in my state gasoline is 3.11 and counting! Fear not. However, since I am a public access producer and host of a show. I have come up with a plan that also may work and it is below. I suggest we try both plans the one in this forward and mine.

Together one just may work! Another idea is to tell every person you know online and offline as well about both plans and have them posted at any and all sites, blogs, Examples: Blogger, Myspace, Word Press and the like. In addition, I'll be putting my plan online in video form on as many video sites as possible.

Now the plan!

Change your mindset we all are used to asking a co - worker to trade their day off with us when we need to do some business are sick or want a day off right? Well, here is what we do with the oil companies.

We start boycotting the oil companies and not buy gasoline every Friday. If millions of us don't buy gas it hits them hard.
We keep this boycott up even if they lower gasoline to what seems to be the perfect price ( this keeps them forced to maintain low prices for gasoline).
We get into our mindset that Friday is our day off and when we can't go without gas on a Friday we ask co -workers to trade with us meaning we can buy gas that Friday, but they can't buy gas on that Friday, but any other day is okay. however, the following Friday would be okay for them unless it is their gasoline boycott day.
We tell everyone we know about both plans in this e-mail the plan below and my new 2007 plan.
We petition the US House and Senate both nationwide and in your states to lower the gasoline taxes and to redistribute funds in the state and federal budget that allows them to lower fuel prices without losing funding for infrastructure ( Roads, public transportation, and bridge repair).
Most important of all! We remember we are the consumer, the citizens of America a free people and united we are an unstoppable force If we boycott the oil companies product and petition our government to lower gasoline and fuel taxes we could once again see gas as low as 1.20 a gallon! If there is no demand for oil or gasoline or a substantial reduction in demand for gasoline and oil products our government both state and federal along with the OPEC nations will have to scramble to lower the cost of oil. One should note that in 1997 and 1998 the cost of a barrel of oil was as low as 26 dollars a gallon and even Texas oil suppliers and the oil industry were hurting and worried about the lack of demand for their product.
Demand hybrid vehicles that have three sources of fuel. Example: oil, electric and solar or other types of fuel. and demand that the prices be affordable around ten thousand to 30,000 dollars. It can be done if we demand it.
Demand that any and all types of vehicles get at least forty miles per gallon in the city and fifty or more miles on the highway this can also be done! ( Note: I'm a listener of old time radio and on commercials from the 40's and 50's they brag about their cars and trucks with V8 engines getting 32 miles per gallon and that was over fifty seven years ago!) The fact is that automakers are not doing their best because the oil industry does not want more efficiency and THAT'S THE FACTS, MY FRIENDS!

One last note: Why would these ideas I and the person below wrote about work? Because a united people can achieve anything. Remember, our very nation was formed by our founding fathers who took on the most powerful nation at that time. Britain, and our nation the under dog won! Not convinced yet? Okay, then use the civil rights movement as another example. They boycotted the busses and won equality! Still saying it won't work? Then examine the Hippy movement to get us out of Vietnam it also worked!

So, If you do what we're asking of you then you send these out to everyone you know and we keep the boycott for a year or more it will work and you will become a believer. Try them and see what happens.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his

engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the

gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to

read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day"

campaign that was going around last April or May!

It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it

might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just

laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt"

ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.

BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super

cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.89 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to

think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we

need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the

marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to

take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit

someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do

that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force

a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline

from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their

prices.

If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow

suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and

Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me

at

this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach

millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least

S. 3930, the Military Commissions Act of 2006

Summary

S. 3930, the Military Commissions Act of 2006, would authorize the President to establish military commissions for the trial of alien unlawful enemy combatants. The bill would authorize the Secretary of Defense to convene military commissions and, in concert with the Attorney General to establish the rules and procedures governing military commissions. S. 3930 also revises the War Crimes Act and would amend the Habeas Corpus provisions of the United States Code.

Major Provisions

SUBCHAPTER 1- General Provisions

Authorization for the establishment of military commissions. S. 3930 would establish the authority of the President to establish military commissions for the trial of alien unlawful enemy combatants engaged in hostilities against the United States for violations of the law of war, as provided in chapter 47 of title 10, United States Code. It would recognize the authority of the military commission to impose an appropriate sentence upon any person found guilty and would authorize the Secretary of Defense to carry out a sentence of punishment imposed by a military commission. S. 3930 would require the Secretary of Defense to submit an annual report to Congress on any trials conducted by military commissions.

Unlawful enemy combatant. S. 3930 would define an unlawful enemy combatant as: 1) a person who has engaged in hostilities against the U.S. or who has purposefully and materially supported hostilities against the U.S. or its co-belligerents who is not a lawful enemy combatant (including a person who is part of the Taliban, al Qaeda or associated forces); or 2) a person who, before, on, or after the date of the enactment of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 [December 30, 2005] has been determined to be an unlawful enemy combatant by a Combatant Status Review Tribunal or another competent tribunal established under the authority of the President or the Secretary of Defense.

The Teshekpuk Lake portion of the oil and gas lease sale within the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPRA) has been CANCELED.

A U.S. District Judge found that the Department of Interior's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) failed to consider the cumulative environmental impact of widespread oil and gas drilling in the NPRA. The judge rejected the BLM's decision and sent the matter back to the agency for further analysis.

Another victory from signing online petitions and from offline work as well.

Attorneys brought suit to protect our national forest and to protect nature. They also posted petitions online. I and thousands more signed these petitions. As a result we won another ruling and thus a victory! As you know I had signed a petition for A vote on Stem Cell research and the Senate and house sent that bill to the Whitehouse which Bush chose to use his first ever line item veto, but the point is that signing these petitions are causing things to happen! So, be it about lowering our fuel cost, healthcare, building a WW2 museum or anything else these petitions are having success and our leaders do listen.

I say to you start signing petitions and you will have input on how your nation is governed.

Court Reinstates Roadless Rule

Almost 50 million acres of national forests and grasslands once again protected

San Francisco, CA -- A federal district court today ordered reinstatement of the Clinton era roadless rule to protect almost 50 million acres of wild national forests and grasslands from road building, logging, and development. The court order is a stunning victory for all Americans who value America's great natural areas and reverses the Bush administration's efforts to open these last great natural areas to development interests.

According to the court, "Defendants are enjoined from taking any further action contrary to the Roadless Rule without undertaking environmental analysis consistent with this opinion." The court noted that in adopting the Rule which the court reinstated today, the Forest Service itself found that the Rule was "necessary to protect the social and ecological values and characteristics of . . . roadless areas from road construction . . . and timber harvesting activities. . . . Adoption of [the Roadless Rule] ensures that inventoried roadless areas will be managed in a manner that sustains their values now and for future generations."

The court found that in repealing the roadless rule, the Bush administration failed to comply with basic legal requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act and the Endangered Species Act: "this court concludes that the Forest Service failed adequately to consider the environmental and species impacts when it [repealed the Roadless Rule] in violation of the National Environmental Policy Act and the Endangered Species Act."

The court continued: "to conclude that a regulation that effects a major change in the way roadless areas in national forests are regulated nationwide from the prior regulation that it replaces does not constitute a repeal with potentially significant environmental effects would ignore reality."

"Americans love the great natural areas our country has been blessed with," said Earthjustice attorney Kristen Boyles. "From hunters, hikers, fishermen, and bird watchers, to cities and towns that rely on clean, mountain-fed drinking water, the last great roadless natural areas in our national forests deserve preservation. As America grows, so does the need to preserve these natural areas -- because they're not making these kind of natural areas anymore."

Conservation groups, represented by a team of Earthjustice attorneys, brought the legal challenge to the Bush administration policies, joining parallel efforts by four states which brought a separate but similar challenge to the Bush administration plan.

"The sad fact is that the Bush administration gave a timber industry lobbyist a high White House appointment and put him in charge of reversing the government's policy to protect our last great roadless natural areas," said Boyles of Earthjustice. "They made these changes in a flatly illegal way and the court caught them."

The 2005 Bush administration roadless repeal, adopted with no environmental analysis and limited public input, replaced a Clinton era rule adopted in January 2001 after a three-year process that included 600 public hearings and 1.6 million public comments. In addition to repealing the roadless rule, the Bush rule invited governors to submit petitions recommending management schemes for the national forests in their states. Five states (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Mexico, California) have lodged such petitions, and all have called for protection for all roadless areas in their states. Other states, including Oregon and Colorado, are facing Bush administration plans to log or develop oil and gas in roadless areas.

Today's ruling doesn't address the roadless areas in the Tongass National Forest in Alaska. In 2003, the Bush administration exempted the Tongass from the roadless rule in a separate procedure. The exemption made little sense then and even less now. About five million acres in the Chugach National Forest in Alaska are once again protected by today's ruling.

Victory is ours!

In the last month I lost my cat, Mickey Bodine, a friend died of cancer and our mayor also died of cancer! Mayor O' Connor was nice to everyone. Bob O'Connor, our Mayor, was a friend to all and he had Pittsburghers believing in Pittsburgh again. He was able to bring back a winning feeling to our city and he was a real person he even was on my cable access show last fall. I mean think about that a man who would be mayor comes on a show on cable access with a yet unproven host ( me ) and it was a great show because of Bob, Alan, Nora my audience and hopefully myself. Bob was great as was Alan Hertzberg and for the record even though he was running for mayor at the time and Alan was running for re-election as a judge. We never really spoke about their campaigns we spoke of other matters. Mickey, my friend, and Bob were great spirits / souls of this world and in a true sense we are blessed to have had time with them. I know that I will miss Mickey, my friend and Bob, but I really don't feel they are gone. I feel they are in a paradise, but that their spirit is with us and can visit us unseen when they choose to.

So, how do we honor their spirit? How do we show our love for them? We grieve, but we can also keep their beliefs with us and we can live each day as if it were the last second we would have in this life. We can love as they did by being accepting as they were and we can and must now carry on where they left off. I know some of you wonder how can I also include my cat in this post or e-mail? Well, my cat was very loving, accepting and in some ways an ambassador of peace and love. Mickey always greeted everyone who has ever visited my house. Mickey would go to the door and welcome visitors and then follow repair people downstairs or up depending on where they were working. Even when people would tell me they hated cats or were allergic I would take Mickey to another part of the house, but he found them and they would start to play with him and I have had cat haters suddenly go over to Mickey and pet him. I've had people tell me they hate cats, but liked Mickey. One man once said that's no cat that's a cool dude! So, yes, Mickey is a cat, but Mickey is also a loving, kind spirit that always touched people's hearts and minds. I can't tell you how or why he was able to do it, but he was.

My other friend who died of cancer was born in Cambodia, but risked life and limb to get to the United States. She brought her children with her and they became US Citizens years ago. She is brave for doing what she did and she was kind and spoke with me even when she was busy. I care for my family who have left this earth Mickey, Bob, and my friend may be gone in body, but their spirits still walk this earth and their souls of kindness and love will never die. They will be in paradise forever, but they will also remain with us forever and that is the true victory. They were champions of peace, kindness, bravery, and other qualities. The qualities they had will never leave us. I say to you let us make them proud of us let us be more like they were and do all that we can to honor them and be more loving as they were.

Military Pay.

This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY, it should be printed in all newspapers across America.

On Nov. 12, Ms Cindy Williams (from Laverne and Shirley TV show) wrote a piece for the Washington Times, denouncing the pay raise coming service members' way this year -- citing that the stated 13% wage was more than they deserve.

A young airman from HillAFBresponds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this.

"Ms Williams:

I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GIs earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service) and my bank account.

Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40, after.

I work in the AirForceNetworkControlCenterwhere I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network. I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs for Network Technicians in the Washington, D.C.area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years experience with my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year. No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum... I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions.

Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had the pleasure of serving your country in her armed forces. Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN; I leave the choice of service branch up to you.

Whatever choice you make, though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience." As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone -- obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them.

Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night; and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE (meal-ready-to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabascoto everything. This gives some flavor. Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't nearly be long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it.

You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points you present in your opined piece.

But, tomorrow from KABUL, I will defend to the death your right to say it.

You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment rights and every other right you cherish. On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective nose at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe. We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies.

And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve? Rubbish!

Drink to your health.

Some of you may know I have an acid reflux problem and it makes my voice very raspy. Well, I have been taking

Healthy Systems Aloe Pure Whole Leaf Barbadensis Mango Papaya 5000 and I now have a much better command of my voice. I tell you this in case you have any issues with voice or stomach you just may wish to get a bottle of this product. It works, my voice is proof of that.

One thing I admit though is this stuff has a rough taste and you will need to take a few sips of water or another drink, but trust me it's worth putting up with the taste. Trust me it does the job.

In fact, I used to go out and Karaoke, but my voice gave out and I would sound like a dying animal! Now, if I try singing I just might only sound like a wounded animal and in six months who knows I may even sound good at it.

Think about that and if you ever need to know where to get this product try looking online or contact me and I am not getting a penny to tell you about this, but feel that by letting people know about this product It may help you if you have thses type of ailments.

They fought for freedom will we?.

Yes, and no, with the Social Security card there is a limit to the type of information they can get and what the law permits. With these new laws there is much more information available and the laws allow them to look at everything which means innocent people ( including me or you. ) can be spied on, harassed, and maybe arrested based on suppositions and not on evidence learned by an investigation. Say for example you visit a web page seeking only to read a story and that type of story is considered pornography or maybe you're reading about some sick killer,or anything that may be on a watch list even though it is not a criminal offense. They can deem you a risk and bam they are getting up into your business for no good reason. There is much more that is troublesome about these laws, but you must learn some of that for yourself. What I will say is Joe is completely in agreement with me on this issue.

Think about every woman and man who have fought for freedom and ask them should this laws be permitted? I bet they would say no.

More of my thoughts are below, but they are not just addressed to you, David, rather they are addressed to every American that values freedom.

We need freedom and not new laws claiming to protect us when in fact they take our freedoms away. I ask you how is taking our freedom away protecting us? And what would the founders of our great nation say about these new laws?

We must fight for our freedom with pen and paper, with phone calls and faxes, and fight legally and peacefully, but make no mistake we must indeed fight any law that take away our fundamental rights of freedom which include free speech and freedom of expression.

If we sit back and allow these laws to remain then we have disgraced our nation and have made a mockery of what our founding fathers and mothers fought and died for. Let us remember for two hundred and twenty nine years we fought and died for freedom. Are we to allow laws like this to take all of that away?

Heroes must not be forgotten.

I believe in love and forgiveness. That having been said we must never forget what happened December -7th -1941. Pearl Harbor was attacked by the forces of Japan. If we forget them and what happened then we forget those brave men and women who gave their lives in the name of freedom. While we can forgive a nation for their acts of war we must not forget that had one not fought and died for freedom we would not have that freedom today.

I ask all Americans to pause for a minute today to remember every man and woman who served America during WW2 many served on the homeland, let us remember them as well.

Thinks more than most members of Congress!

I really have to think about this.

At least he is thinking, but can we say that about our members of Congress? Think about what they do to our nation? Democrats and Republicans in Congress do more for themselves then they do for America.

Want to change that? Well, let's vote in every election until we get real government Of, By, and For the people.

Now, that's worth thinking about wouldn't you agree?

Think about this. Man and woman believes themselves to be the smartest beings on the earth, yet the earth has many problems including lack of knowledge to cure the common cold, fight cancer and win, stop hatred and war. Answer what is the meaning of life to name just a few. And by the way when is the last time you saw any animals at war? When the last time an animal attempted to wipe out an entire species? Seems to me that humans think they are smart, but are we?

Would it be paradise?

I live my life as the man in this tale, and I agree with this forward 100%.

Heaven and Hell

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred
to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the
road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?

This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.

Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.

Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up.The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.

I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.

Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"
Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."

How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.

There should be a bowl by the pump.

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.

The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.

What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.

This is Heaven," he answered.

Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.
Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell."

Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"

No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.

Dear Albert.

I have some great news! This week, leadership in the House of Representatives was forced to strip language from their version of the budget bill that would have opened the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and our coasts to drilling. This victory wouldn't have been possible without support from people like you!

Thanks to pressure from constituents and the environmental community, a group of Republicans and Democrats held firm -- dealing a major blow to Big Oil, the Bush Administration, and leadership in the House. This victory shows that protecting our natural resources is not a partisan issue -- and that a majority of Americans support a sound energy policy.

Even after removing the Arctic and coastal drilling provisions from the bill, House leadership had to pull their version of the budget off the floor because they didn't have the votes to pass it. However, they are likely try to bring it back for a vote in the near future. Although Arctic Refuge and coastal drilling are no longer in the House bill, other anti-environmental provisions remain -- such as a controversial mining land give-away.

And last week, the Senate narrowly approved drilling language in their version of the budget bill. We will continue call on our elected officials to keep Arctic Refuge drilling out of a final bill.

As we continue to monitor the budget process, we will let you know how you can help. But for now, let's take a moment and celebrate this victory for the Arctic and our coasts!

It pays to shop around. This helps to solve the mystery as to why they can afford to put a Walgreen's on every corner. On Monday night, Steve Wilson, an investigative reporter for Channel 7 News in Detroit, did a story on generic drug price gouging by pharmacies. He found
in his investigation, that some of these generic drugs were marked up as much as 3,000% or more. Yes, that's not a typo.....three thousand percent! So often, we blame the drug companies for the high cost of drugs, and usually rightfully so.

But in this case, the fault clearly lies with the pharmacies themselves. For example, if you had to buy a prescription drug, and bought the name brand, you might pay $100 for 100 pills. The pharmacist might tell you that if you get the generic equivalent, they would only cost $80, making you think you are "saving" $20. What the pharmacist is not telling you is that those 100 generic pills may have only cost him $10!

At the end of the report, one of the anchors asked Mr. Wilson whether or not there were any pharmacies that did not adhere to this practice, and he said that Costco consistently charged little over their cost for the generic drugs.

I went to the Costco site, where you can look up any drug, and get its online price. It says that the in-store prices are consistent with the online prices. I was appalled. Just to give you one example from my own experience, I had to use the drug, Compazine, which helps prevent nausea in chemo patients.

I used the generic equivalent, which cost $54.99 for 60 pills at CVS. I checked the price at Costco, and I could have bought 100 pills for $19.89 For 145 of my pain pills, I paid
$72.57. I could have got 150 at Costco for $28.08.

I would like to mention, that although Costco is a "membership" type store, you do NOT have to be a member to buy prescriptions there, as it is a federally regulated substance. You just tell them at the door that you wish to use the pharmacy, and they will let you in. (this is
true) I went to Costco this past Thursday and asked them.

It was worth it.

Why must people cry about the cost of war?

Don't they know that it is worth the cost?

Why cry about 2,022 dead Americans?

I mean it's only two thousand lives big deal!
And come on!
What could two billion dollars buy? What is all the fuss about?

That is how many supporters of this war must feel or we would be getting ready to leave there and even if leaving is a bad idea losing American lives and billions of dollars is a much worse idea.

If you care about America.

If you care about America you must be ready to show it by voting in every election, but that is just the very first step. Next, you need to write to your Senators and all of our national leaders. In a few weeks yet another Supreme Court Justice will be appointed. You must tell your Senators which way they need to vote. You may not think this has anything to do with you, but it does. Think about how cases will be ruled on and where your rights may be affected because be clear on one thing who is on the court could very well effect new laws which could limit our rights and freedoms. It could decide if it is legal to smoke in bars, to use medical marijuana to help with the pain from cancer and other diseases. It could effect stem cell research and if a woman can control her body. In short it will decide in many cases between life and death or at least what quality of life you or a loved one or friends may have. Yes, there will be laws and rulings that effect you, your family, and our nation so stand up and be counted or will you let them control your life without any say? Our leaders face tough choices and no matter if you are on the right, center or left it is urgent that you let our leaders know where you stand.

Make your freedom count and help America be an even greater nation.

We need answers.

I don't ask Americans and our Senators to reject Roberts based on liberal or conservative views. I ask for his rejection based on his non answers, but I point out to my friends on the left and on the right. I would not want a court filled with all liberals nor all conservatives. I believe the Supreme Court must have balance. After all it is the highest court in this nation and decides life and death in many cases and in many ways. We need people of the right, the left, and the center the perfect court would be three moderates, three liberals and three conservatives. This way no one takes over and WE The People have real representation.

John Roberts has been able to avoid answering questions with forthcoming answers, yet he stands to be in judgment of the most important court cases in the United States Of America. If he won't be honest with the Senators in his answers I ask every American and our Senators how can we put our trust in a man who will be able to judge the rights of every American? Would you want your rights and freedoms to be in the hands of a man who could decide a case that will change lives and not for the better, but for the worse? I must ask every Senator to reject John Roberts and I ask every American to call, write, fax and e-mail your Senators and tell them vote no on Roberts.

Give me my freedom. I'll protect myself.

They lied to us after 9/11/2001. They said we won't let them win, we won't change the way we run America. We won't give up our way of life. Then what did they do? They made the Patriot Acts and the National ID laws.

If they claim we're not going to change them then why these new laws? Why Homeland Security? Don't get me wrong. I want America protected, but face it, my fellow Americans, we are running scared when we make new laws that limit our freedoms. We have changed because of them and we have done what they wanted us to do! Limit the freedoms we enjoy. Ask yourself this question. How have these laws which make it much more easy for the government to spy on us how have they made us any safer? They now can look into your library records to see what book you read. Why should they know this? What if you read a book about serial killers does this make you a serial killer? What if you have a class and must read that book for your class? Should the government be able to check you out? And think about this.
Going on a plane these days is like being a criminal. They have the right to strip search you if they suspect you for any reason they should not be able to do this that easy, it's not right! Yes, we must check bags and suitcases, fine, but the limits on a plane have become STUPID! You can't bring on a lighter, but matches you can bring on. I'm saying this. Sure, we must have a way to weed out the evil people, but if we make laws that limits the freedoms of every American then we no longer are the America our founders fought and died for.

We don't need these new laws. Law enforcement have always been able to find anyone they wanted to find. They just did not work with each other sharing information that was their fault. They had egos, but America and its citizins should not have new laws put upon them just because of the failures of it's government. It is for them to fix their mistakes and not to subject us to a loss of our civil liberties.

NOTE:
For those of you in favor of the Patriot Acts or the National ID laws I have proof they are not needed. Last night I was stopped by the police because my car does not have low beam lights at this time and while I was stopped the officer was able to find out who I was, where I lived and that I was who I said I was and he had no National ID card. He had my PA Drivers License, that's all we need!! If you believe that we need these new laws then you are being duped by our goverment.

In conclusion I say repeal all those laws that limit our civil liberties and let us protect ourselves!! Local, state, and federal goverments should work together fighting crime and terror, but they should not be allowed to search anyone's home without a search warrant. With these laws they can search your home without a warrant and this is abuse by our goverment. I say make them get warrants, make them work together, but leave the innocent American citizens ALONE!!

Power.

We all have power but it is what we choose to do with it that matters. I choose to help my fellow human beings as much as possibe, and I choose to speak up for those who have not yet learned they have power they have a voice. If I see a person in need I try to help I am poor when it comes to money but, I do what I can to help in any way that I can. I hope that all of us can learn how to use the power we have to make this a better world. If some choose to attack us should we quit helping people?

Never because it is those who try to help that have power that power is the power to work for a more healthy, happy, safe, just world and what is so bad aboout that?

And I am sick of REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS WHO PLAY GAMES WITH THE PEOPLE'S MINDS AND LIVES. I know that republicans and democrats can and do work together on many issues but, so many try to divide us and divide America I must ask why? Is it not possible for these fools to see the common ground?

Many democrats and republicans do work together and it's about time.

Bob was a good man.

Bob Denver died on Friday. He was best known as Gilligan but was also known to TV audiences by his role on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. There were many nights when I needed a good laugh and Denver as Gilligan always did the job.
